Biography

Shari McGuirl started playing traditional music while living in Belfast, NI. Shari has been involved in music throughout her life: something that can partly be attributed to the musical family she comes from; her grandfather was a renowned guitar and banjo player, and was a big band leader in the 1930's. Shari is currently living in Toronto and can be found involved in the Irish Music scene there.

She has been in several bands, including Fianna, where she is joined by Kerri Brown, another multi-instrumentalist. Shari plays the guitar, whistle, fiddle, mandolin, bodhrán and sings, and can often be found in local sessions in Toronto.

Shari is also an accomplished artist, studying art in two different universities. Her paintings and illustrations have been shown in various venues and were recently included in the Celtic Routes festival at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, Canada.
